Solar Lights

July 19, 2016

My Dad is in need of a new porch light. We live out in the middle of nowhere so it's very dark when the sun goes down. I saw these solar lights and thought I would give them a try.

Solar Lights

I love the design and they look good on my Dad's trailer. While they do work well, if they are in direct sunlight all day long. If they are not in direct sunlight all day long, they will not work for the entire night. They only worked for about 6 hours under direct sunlight for 4 hours a day.

So all in all I only gave them a 4 star review on Amazon. The way my Dad's house sits, there is no way that I can put these near the front door (which is where we need the light at). The design is good, but the solar part I guess isn't very well thought out. I don't know of anyone who could put these at their front door and have them work all night.

They come in a set of two for $16.98 on Amazon. The price is good and they do work. But if you need something that is going to last through the night, you have to make sure the solar panel on the top of the light is in direct sunlight all day long. Otherwise they will only work for about 6 hours (this is just an estimate).

Overall, I do like these lights as they worked better than the last one I got. That one has the same problem with the solar charging, but it only worked for 3 days. Now it doesn't come on at all even if it is left in direct sunlight all day. So, this set does work better and it does provide the light in early evening and night so I guess I can't complain too much.

I received this product for free or at a discount for my honest review.

Have a great day!
